Derek Hilling - Large

I am 55 years old, married, and I have a son. I have run my own one-man consultancy business since 1995, which specialises in helping businesses with internal systems and process changes. I have been an associate member of the Institute of Directors since 2005.

I joined the English Democrats in 2007, and previous to that I stood in 2 local elections as an independent candidate. In my time as an English Democrat I have been East Midlands Area Chairman and I am currently the National Secretary of the party. As a leading member of a volunteer organisation I believe that I have the necessary skills and experience to offer help and guidance as an MEP.

I am a member of both the National Trust and Woodland Trust; and I am a keen walker and cyclist. I love the English countryside, and have something of a passion for English village churches. I have tremendous respect for our Christian traditions and I believe that we owe a tremendous debt to all those English men and women who have helped to make our country what it is today. However we must not take it for granted. Our landscape and heritage are such an essential part of who we are and what we all love about England.

I have a degree from Sheffield University and I have real passion for history. I want all our young people to understand what great events England has been involved in down the centuries. England has always played a leading role in Europe right from the time of the Anglo-Saxons, and we should continue to do that. We can only do this if we are a prosperous and independent nation.

I love ENGLAND and I want our country to be free and independent. Only those people who are committed to England (i.e. citizens of England) should control its destiny.
